.DISCUSSION...Increasing southerly flow across the region is
expected to bring an influx of moisture associated with two
tropical systems Sunday into early next week. Chances for showers
and thunderstorms begin as early as Sunday afternoon, though
coverage will be more isolated. More widespread showers and
thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon into early Tuesday.
The burn scar will remain on the fringes of deepest moisture, and
greatest instability will be focused across southeast Utah. As
such, the Weather Prediction Center has limited the heavy rainfall
and flash flood risk on Monday across the area to a Marginal
(Level 1 of 4) Risk. Main timeframe of concern will be Monday
afternoon into the evening as coverage and intensity of storms
peaks across the area.
