If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Tropical moisture will be quickly on the rise through the afternoon and into this evening. Now through 2PM expect generally dry conditions with weak showers starting to develop to the south and west of Zion Canyon. The hourly chance of rain will rise to around 10% through 2PM. However between 2PM and 4PM moisture will be quickly on the rise, and the hourly chance of rain will spike from around 10% at 2PM to near 50% by 4PM. The chance for flash flooding (hourly rain fall rates exceeding about 0.3 inches) in Zion Canyon will maximize from around 3 PM to 6 PM at around a 20-40% chance each hour, with overall probability of exceeding 0.3 inches through 6 PM at 60%. Heavy rainfall would be associated with showers and thunderstorms moving up from the south-southwest of Arizona, and thus any threatening weather moving in from that direction should be watched closely on site. Beyond the time range of this spot, it is important to note there is a secondary, higher maxima in flash flood risk overnight tonight into early Friday morning. .REST OF TODAY...
