.DISCUSSION...Temperatures today will be a bit closer to seasonal
normals compared to the past few days due to the passage of a cold
front. High based moisture will remain in place, allowing for the
development of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Little in the
way of rainfall is expected from the storms that do develop, with
dry lightning and gusty winds the main threats from any storms
that develop. Moisture will spread northward across Utah Thursday
into Friday, resulting in more widespread coverage of afternoon
and evening showers and thunderstorms as well as a greater
potential for wetting rains from the storms that develop. The
deeper moisture will remain in place through the first part of the
weekend before drier conditions develop early next week.
