.DISCUSSION...A broad and moist system will continue to impact the region
overnight into Tuesday. For Monday night, a lack of instability
will tend to favor rain showers more stratiform in nature with
hourly precipitation rates around 0.05" to 0.15" or so. That said,
any embedded thunderstorm that manages to develop (~20-30%
chance) will bring potential for brief periods of heavier rates up
to around 0.50" to 1.00" per hour. Current winds are favoring a
northerly direction through about 9-10 PM, but will start to
become more variable and terrain driven outside of any
thunderstorm influence. Given the movement of the larger system,
moisture and precipitation will begin to wrap back around from the
northeast, maintaining elevated shower chances into Tuesday.
Thunderstorm chances will increase with daytime heating Tuesday.
