.DISCUSSION...Fire weather conditions decrease in intensity
tomorrow as a dry cold front moves into the area and flow becomes
lighter over the fire area. Southwesterly winds are anticipated in
the early morning, with ridgetop winds shifting to the northwest as
early as 0600. Early morning drainage flows are anticipated to
shift to a northwesterly flow around 0900 as the morning inversion
breaks. Though winds will be more tame than Monday, afternoon
wind gusts are expected to be in the 15-20 mph range out of the
northwest with occasional gusts of upwards of 25 mph on higher
exposure slopes and ridges. These winds combined with afternoon
humidity between 10 to 15 percent will create elevated to near
critical fire weather conditions. Improvements to overnight
humidity recovery are expected into Wednesday, but only by about 5
percent. By Wednesday, winds relax and turn to a south to
southwest direction. That said, increasing temperatures and deeper
atmospheric mixing is anticipated Wednesday onward.
