.DISCUSSION...Moisture will spread into the area today as
southerly flow increases in association with a weak weather
disturbance lifting across Utah. This will bring some rain and
snow showers and a few thunderstorms into the area, with periods
of moderate precipitation with the stronger storms. While showers
may begin as early as 0800, the main timeframe for the heavier
precipitation today will be from around 1200-1800. Weaker showers
will then continue overnight through Saturday before another round
of heavy precipitation arrives on Sunday. Sunday will likely be
the wettest day, with precipitation becoming widespread by Sunday
morning. Precipitation totals of 0.30-0.60 inches can be expected
today through Saturday night with up to 2 inches of snow. On
Sunday, precipitation totals of 1-1.5 inches can be expected with
4-8 inches of snow.
