.DISCUSSION...An active monsoonal pattern remains ongoing across the
region. There will remain around a 20-30% chance of showers and
thunderstorms through around 10 PM, likely followed by a relative
lull, with shower chances then ramping back up after 2 AM through
sunrise or so. Thereafter, thunderstorm chances quickly increase
late morning and remain elevated through evening as widespread
scattered convective development is anticipate across Utah.
Activity will then once again trend more showery in nature
following sunset Wednesday, with shower activity gradually
trending downward after midnight. By Thursday the area will see
some return of drier air, which will allow the daily precipitation
chances to drop, and thunderstorm activity to become more
isolated in nature. Any stronger thunderstorm that moves overhead
will bring potential for brief heavy rain on the order of 1" per
hour, if not slightly more. Shower activity will tend to have
lower and more manageable rainfall rates up to around 0.25" per
hour.
