.DISCUSSION...Stable, northwest flow will be in place today. An
approaching atmospheric river from the northwest will increase transport
winds on Friday, and also increase the clearing index. Have
manually increased the clearing index to just over 500 based on an
analysis of nearby soundings that indicate favorable ventilation
Friday. With the presence of this system, mixing ventilation and
clearing looks favorable for Saturday as well. Looking ahead, a
ridge of high pressure will build into the region Sunday through
at least Friday, brining poor clearing and ventilation.
