...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON THURSDAY TO 10 PM MDT

.DISCUSSION...Hot and dry conditions will continue, with
increasing southwesterly flow beginning Thursday afternoon. As
high pressure crosses the area today, temperatures will continue
to increase, likely peaking on Thursday. RH trends over the next
few days will remain steady in the single digits during the
afternoon with very poor overnight recoveries struggling to reach
15 percent through at least Saturday. Southwesterly winds will
increase each day through at least Saturday, and will likely
persist into Sunday as well since the approaching cold front may
still be located over central Utah by then. Afternoon wind gusts
will approach 30-40 mph by Saturday afternoon, with a 10 percent
chance of exceeding 45 mph. During the overnight hours each night,
wind speeds will decrease, but occasional gusts to around 15-20
mph may still persist given the strong pressure gradient.
