.DISCUSSION...Continued cold air flowing into the region at upper
levels will generally keep a cap on mixing height and clearing index
through the weekend and much of next week. A progressive, quick-
hitting storm system is expect to pass through central and
southern Utah midweek, both increasing cloud cover and
precipitation chances especially on Wednesday, but also bringing
some additional mixing and background flow.
At this time, considerable uncertainty remains, but Wednesday
currently presents the one day of the week with a period of
marginally improved ventilation. Trends in the forecast show much
colder and more stable air return to finish the week, again
limiting mixing. Limited precipitation is expected with this
system, with upper end forecasts producing around 0.1" water by
Friday.
