086 FNUS75 KSLC 292220 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for Cedar City Piles Markaghaunt...USFS National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 320 PM MST Mon Dec 29 2025 Forecast is based on ignition time of 1500 MST on December 29. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...High pressure over the area will maintain dry and stable conditions featuring warming temperatures, light winds, and poor mixing through Wednesday. Moisture will increase out of the southwest Wednesday evening through Thursday night as a storm system ejects across the area. Because the associated airmass will be fairly mild, the burn site should see a dense snow, with around 1-2 inches of accumulation from 0.35-0.5 inches of water currently expected. Winds will increase a bit out of the southwest with this storm, but are not expected to be very strong, and as a result, clearing index may remain below 500. For the weekend, and into the beginning of next week, the pattern looks to remain active, but there is a lot of uncertainty in the details. At the moment, precipitation looks to favor northern Utah more than southern Utah, but can not rule out any precipitation at the burn site during this time. Southwest winds should remain a bit enhanced, but still not particularly strong, with gusts peaking below 30 mph. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (0-10 percent cloud cover).
