.DISCUSSION...Monsoonal moisture is forecast to continue pushing
into the state through Friday ahead of a lull Saturday and
Sunday. This afternoon, precipitation is forecast to develop after
1200 with a 10-30% chance rainfall totals over the burn scar
exceed 0.50" through 2400. Hourly precipitation rates average out
around 0.1-0.2"/hr, with low chances of exceeding this threshold.
However, local terrain influence may play into this resulting in
locally higher amounts possible this afternoon. Concern is higher
this afternoon given the potential for back-building storms,
enhancing the flooding threat near the burn scar. As such, a flood
watch has been issued which encompasses the Widemouth 2 burn scar
area.
Moisture begins tapering off somewhat tomorrow resulting in at
least some flooding risk in the afternoon before drying out
Saturday and Sunday resulting in near-zero chances for
precipitation near the burn scar this weekend. In particular,
storms over high terrain will be favored, potentially raising some
concerns across the burn scar. Around midweek next week,
monsoonal moisture looks to return once again potentially
increasing the flooding threat at the burn scar.
