.DISCUSSION...

...Today-Sunday (9/26-27)... Mostly sunny skies with a few passing
high clouds observed this morning across interior NorCal.
Temperatures are holding in the mid 60s to low 70s so far, with
highs gradually increasing into the upper 70s to low 80s across
the Valley today. Slightly cooler high temperatures are in the
forecast for Sunday where highs are forecast to be in about 8 to
12 degrees below normal. Cooler temperatures are being driven by
offshore troughing, allowing onshore flow to continue across the
region. Forecast runs this morning have decreased overall wind
impacts and increased daytime humidity values across the area,
reducing the elevated fire weather concerns for the Sierra, Coast
Range, Burney Basin, and NE Foothills today. Similar trends of
cooler highs and onshore flow continuing most of Sunday will
reduce fire weather concerns.

...Monday-Tuesday (9/28-9/29)... Periods of breezy northerly
flow are forecast to develop on Monday through the Sacramento
Valley as the trough closes off and tracks southward. Guidance
suggests low pressure moving through the area on Monday with
better consensus on impacts that will bring to the area. Biggest
sensible weather impacts will be north winds developing across the
Valley and the elevated fire weather conditions. A slight chance
of a shower/t-storm remains in the forecast Monday afternoon and
evening in the Sierra south of HWY-50. PWATS remain relatively low
within this system, but with the track and location of the low
support the potential for some light showers and a rumble of
thunder or two. Stronger winds are forecast on Tuesday as the low
pressure digs further southeast, ushering in north to east wind
gusts of 15-25 mph in the Valley; 30-40 mph over the Sierra. While
not the classic Inside Slider pattern, elevated fire weather
conditions will continue into Tuesday when the daytime humidity
values will struggle to reach the twenties in the northern
Sacramento Valley; 15-25% in the mountains. Highs will also climb
as the low exits our region, pushing warmer temperatures of low to
mid 90s across interior NorCal on Tuesday.

...Wednesday-Friday (9/30-10/02)... Temperatures will remain
slightly above normal (+1 to 4 degrees) as weak eastern Pacific
ridging builds over interior NorCal. Winds should generally remain
light and no precipitation is expected at this time.

.AVIATION...

VFR conditions continue through the rest of today and into
tonight, with mostly clear skies with just some high, thin
clouds. Sustained winds will be generally less than 12 kts. Delta
Breeze winds up to 20 kts are expected to develop after 00Z and
continue tonight into Sunday through 18Z.
