...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT TODAY DUE TO GUSTY
WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR PORTIONS OF THE SACRAMENTO
VALLEY AND NORTHERN FOOTHILLS...
Breezy north to east winds continue to strengthen across the
Valley through this morning, with gusts from 25 to 35 mph at
times. These gusty winds combined with low humidities will yield
critical fire weather conditions across the Sacramento Valley and
northern foothills. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect through
5pm PDT this afternoon for portions of the Sacramento Valley and
northern foothills. Locations outside of the warned area, such as
along the Sierra crest, will see periodically elevated fire
weather conditions as well, but should remain below critical
conditions. Temperatures warm up to near-normal today and persist
on Tuesday, before below-normal temperatures return for mid-week.
Generally dry weather is expected to persist across the area
through the week, but there is a non-zero chance (less than 10%)
of isolated thunderstorm for Shasta County by mid-week.
