.DISCUSSION...
Veterans Day and Wednesday will be mostly dry and calm, though winds
will begin to pick up Tuesday evening as a storm system begins to
move through the area. By late Wednesday morning, the burn site will
see southwest gusts up to 15 mph, with sustained speeds and gusts
increasing overnight Wednesday and through Thursday. Maximum gusts up
to 42 mph are expected overnight Wednesday into early Thursday.
Precipitation is expected to start overnight Wednesday into Thursday as
well, with snow levels starting around 8000 ft and primarily rain
reaching the burn site. Rain will transition to snow sometime Thursday
afternoon and evening. 2.25 to 2.75 inches of rain are expected before
the transition to snow, then 3 to 6 inches of snow after the transition.
However, exact timing and amounts are still uncertain, and slight
deviations in the storm track could lead to changes in the forecast snow
totals.
