...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TUESDAY
NIGHT...

* WHAT...Numerous and life-threatening rip currents.

* WHERE...Walton, Bay, Gulf, and Franklin County Beaches.

* WHEN...Through late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While the weather is nice for beachgoers,
  dangerous rip currents will lurk just below the surface, despite
  surf of only around 2 feet. Beachgoers should take note of all
  beach flags and follow the orders of beach safety officials.
  Double Red Flags mean that the water is closed to the public,
  due to numerous and life-threatening rip currents, but the beach
  remains open. Do not enter the water under Double Red Flags.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
