Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
1231 PM EDT Wed Jul 16 2025

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

Southerly winds across the eastern Gulf will increase through
Thursday morning, first over Apalachee Bay, then further west off the
Emerald Coast. Therefore, rip current risk will rise through tonight,
affecting Forgotten Coast beaches starting this afternoon, then
Emerald Coast beaches tonight. Surf heights on Thursday of 3 to 4 feet
will set up a particularly high risk, especially by more tranquil
midsummer standards. Wind and seas will start to decrease on Friday,
but it will take until Saturday to get past the upcoming stretch of
dangerous swimming conditions.

Based on communication with area beach officials, the following flags
are flying at area beaches:

Walton........................Yellow
Bay...........................Yellow
State Park Gulf Beaches.......Yellow
West Facing Gulf Beaches......Yellow
