Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
Issued by National Weather Service Missoula MT
128 PM MDT Sat Sep 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Northwesterly flow aloft within upper level ridging will transition to a more
southwesterly flow aloft later this weekend into much of next week. This transition
will allow for increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms, especially
toward the middle of the week. In the meantime, the remainder of this afternoon
is looking dry. Scattered showers and thunderstorms capable of lightning and
briefly gusty winds look to develop Sunday afternoon along the Continental Divide
and across southern districts. A bit of a lull develops in shower and thunderstorm
chances for Monday before chances ramp up again toward the middle of next week. -AM
