Warm, and smoky conditions are expected to prevail today as upper
level ridging remains entrenched overhead. High temperatures
today will be in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees, raising the
risk for heat illnesses. Temperatures should slowly fall to the
low 60s overnight, but warmer temperatures are possible if the
smoke becomes thicker than currently expected. Heat continues on
Saturday, with a few thunderstorms developing during the
afternoon. Any thunderstorms may bring lightning and very gusty
winds in excess of 60mph, with very little rainfall. As of now the
risk of damaging winds is around 5-10%.
