.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather conditions remain an increasing concern as fuels
continue to dry. Periodic gusty winds through the afternoon with
hot temperatures should be expected. A weak front is likely to
move into the region Sunday and remain stalled across the area
into Monday. A few thunderstorms are forecast near and north of
the front focusing primarily along and north of Interstate 40.
Some of these storms may produce localized gusty downburst winds
on Sunday afternoon and evening, which could affect any ongoing
fire fighting efforts. Widespread meaningful rainfall is not
expected. Very hot and dry weather returns Tuesday of next week,
although potential for another brief cooldown with low rain
chances exists late next week.
