This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Northwest Of Interstate 44 in Northeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...Late Afternoon.

DISCUSSION...
Scattered light to moderate rain showers are expected to continue
this morning across much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest
Arkansas. Additional showers along with an increase in
thunderstorm potential are forecast this afternoon into this
evening as an area of low pressure and associated weak cold front
move into the region. Limited severe potentials for locally
strong wind gusts exist mainly northwest of Interstate 44 with
storms forecast to move out of Kansas late afternoon and early
evening. This severe potential will be dependent on the amount of
cloud scattering and warmer temperatures this afternoon. A
locally heavy rain threat also exists with any storm development
into this evening.

Rain chances and a slight chance of thunder remains overnight
tonight with the movement of the frontal boundary.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
THURSDAY...No Hazards.
FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
An upper level area of low pressure and the weak frontal
boundary are forecast to remain over the region into Tuesday with
continued chances for showers and storms. The greater potential
for storms Tuesday is across southeast Oklahoma into western
Arkansas before the boundary can exit the region. A lull in
precipitation chances develops Tuesday night and Wednesday before
additional shower and low storm chances return Wednesday night
from another boundary moving into the region. A more defined cold
front looks to move over the region Friday into the weekend, which
will return another round of shower and thunderstorm chances. A
locally heavy rain threat could develop during the weekend.
