SIGNIFICANT WINDS. RISK...Limited. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Northwesterly winds will continue to slowly lessen through the overnight hours across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Still wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph will be possible through the night for most locations SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. SUNDAY...High Wind Potential. MONDAY...Winter Weather Potential. TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph are expected mainly in the terrain of the Ouachitas in southeast Oklahoma behind a cold front Sunday morning before subsiding. There is a low chance for some spotty light freezing rain Monday morning across portions of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, which could create slick spots on bridges. A band of relatively heavier precipitation is expected to spread across southeast Oklahoma into west-central and northwest Arkansas Monday afternoon and evening. In the higher terrain areas where surface temperatures are expected to remain near freezing, light icing is forecast which could amount to a tenth of an inch or so of accumulation. A light glaze is possible in the lower elevations. This light icing could lead to slick spots on bridges and a minor travel impact that could linger into Tuesday morning. Some light snow is possible by Monday evening across far northwest Arkansas, with little to no accumulation or impact expected. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information. $$
