DISCUSSION...
Strong thunderstorms are ongoing this afternoon and will continue
generally along and east of Highway 69 through mid afternoon. The
severe weather threat will increase as the storms move east. The
main threats will be up to golf ball sized hail, and wind gusts
to 70 mph. A low threat of tornadoes also exists this afternoon
mainly over western Arkansas. Excessive rainfall leading to
flooding will also be a concern where thunderstorms repeat over
the same area, primarily across far northwestern Arkansas. Winds
ahead of the approaching cold front and behind the cold front will
be gusty, with northerly post- frontal gusts between 25 and 35
mph.

FRIDAY...Heavy Rain Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Dry, southerly winds will return and become breezy again Sunday
and especially on Monday ahead of another approaching cold front.
Widespread southerly gusts in excess of 30 mph will occur Monday
morning into the afternoon prior to the cold front pushing through
by Monday evening. More tranquil weather will occur Tuesday and
Wednesday before another storm system approaches late in the week
and storms return.
