...NWS Damage Survey for 05/25-26/2024 Tornado Event...

.Overview...NWS Tulsa meteorologists continue to survey storm damage
from severe thunderstorms that moved through eastern Oklahoma and
northwestern Arkansas late evening 5/25 into the early morning of
5/26. A long-track supercell produced a number of tornadoes, some of
which has been confirmed in the strong category (EF2 and EF3), as
well as extensive straight-line wind damage from its rear flank
downdraft. Some of the details for several of the tornadoes is below
based on our surveys. We will continue to update this statement as we
work through the details of the event through additional surveys in
the coming days.

.CLAREMORE OKLAHOMA TORNADO...

Survey Summary:
Details for this tornado are not finalized. This tornado developed
northeast of Owasso, moved through Claremore, where numerous homes
and businesses were damaged or destroyed. EF2 damage was found in
Claremore, and EF3 damage was found east of Claremore. The tornado
continued to produce EF2 damage as it moved into Mayes County, with
extensive tree damage. It destroyed a mobile home less than a mile
from the county line where two fatalities and four injuries occurred.
The tornado produced EF3 damage to homes about four miles northwest
of Pryor and then dissipated about two miles northwest of Pryor. This
supercell produced extensive straight-line wind damage associated
with the rear flank downdraft outside of the tornado track to the
south. Work continues on this tornado track.

Survey Summary:
This tornado developed over Lake Hudson and moved generally east-
southeast. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted, homes were
damaged, outbuildings were destroyed, and power poles were
snapped along its path. It produced a tornadic debris signature
from the KINX WSR-88D.

.SALINA OKLAHOMA TORNADO...

Survey Summary:
This tornado developed just north of Salina, and moved south-
southeast across town, dissipating over an inlet of Lake Hudson.
The tornado damaged homes and businesses, uprooted and snapped
trees, and blew down power poles. It produced a tornadic debris
signature from the KINX WSR-88D.

.BULL HOLLOW OKLAHOMA TORNADO...

Survey Summary:
This tornado developed over rugged terrain near Bull Hollow,
moved across County Road 546, where trees were uprooted, and then
moved northeast and dissipated before reaching County Road 487.
It produced a tornadic debris signature from the KINX WSR-88D.

.DECATOR ARKANSAS TORNADO 1...

Survey Summary:
This tornado developed north of County Road 500 and west of S
712 Road, about a mile and a half from the state line. It damaged
several homes, destroyed outbuildings, snapped and uprooted
trees, and snapped power poles as it moved northeast into
Arkansas, crossing near Welch Road. It intensified and widened as
it moved across Coon Hollow Road and Carlton Drive, where homes
and outbuildings were destroyed and tree damage was extensive.
Homes were destroyed and trees were stubbed and debarked on
Highway 102. The tornado likely turned north-northeast and
dissipated. Ground surveys continue on this track before it will
be finalized.
