...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Arizona...

  Gila River Near Gila River near Solomon affecting Graham County.

For the Upper Gila...including Gila River near Solomon...Moderate
flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast. This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...Gila River near Gila River near Solomon.

* WHEN...Until late tonight.

* IMPACTS...At 22.5 feet, Bridges in Safford Valley closed and
  extensive agricultural flooding. Homes and structures closest to
  the river threatened.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:30 AM MST Wednesday the stage was 22.2 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 19.0 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 5:30 AM MST Wednesday was 22.2 feet.

  - Forecast...The river will rise to 22.7 feet between 8 and 9 am
    MST this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late this
    afternoon to 17.2 feet just after midnight tonight.

  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

  - A 22.7 feet crest exceeds the previous historical high crest of
    20.8 feet on 10/02/1983.
