.DISCUSSION...The upper-level disturbance responsible for producing
widespread heavy rainfall across Southeast Arizona Tuesday will exit
the area today into New Mexico. There is enough residual moisture
around for this system to produce a few light rain showers on its
way out over the White Mountains and Chiricahuas, but confidence is
low. Otherwise, a ridge of high pressure will take up residence
across the region the second half of the week. Although this will
provide dry conditions, it will also result in breezy east to
southeast winds Friday into early next week. Afternoon high
temperatures will be 10-15 degrees below normal again today, warming
to only a few degrees below normal this weekend. Minimum RH values
35-55 percent in valley locations and 50-75 percent in the mountains
today, generally lowering to 15-25 percent the second half of the
week as drier air moves into the region. 20-foot winds will be less
than 15 mph into Thursday, then gusty east to southeast winds Friday
through early next week.
