Spot Forecast for Foote Fire...U.S Forest Service
National Weather Service Tucson AZ
517 PM MST Tue Jun 18 2024

Forecast is based on forecast start time of 2000 MST on June 18.
.DISCUSSION...

Afternoon breeziness out of the southwest will continue through
tomorrow with gusts to around 20 mph. A pattern shift will turn
wind directions at the forecast site to the southeast late Wednesday
night, most likely after midnight. Winds will remain southeasterly
and increase during the day Thursday. It`s looking increasingly likely
that the stronger southeasterly flow along similarly oriented terrain may aid
in producing some gustier winds. Current forecast includes gusts up to
35 mph but this will need to be watched. Additionally, this southeasterly
flow will bring moisture into the area starting Thursday. Chances for
thunderstorms increase Thursday afternoon, with potential for strong, erratic
outflow winds and lightning. This increasing moisture will begin to raise
minimum and overnight relative humidities starting tomorrow night.
