.DISCUSSION...(This Evening Through Monday)
Issued at 126 PM MDT Mon Sep 1 2025

After some morning fog and low clouds, much of the area has
cleared out allowing for a nice day across much of eastern Wyoming
and western South Dakota. Expecting clear skies this evening which
will make for optimal viewing of the northern lights tonight.
Heading into Tuesday night into Wednesday the first of two cold
fronts will move through the northern Plains. Some leftover
moisture across the region and modest low level shear will be
ample enough to initiate some isolated thunderstorms across
northwestern South Dakota.

The second cold front will be coming through on Thursday
night/Friday. This will be a dry frontal passage that will bring
some gusty northwest winds to the region. We will have to monitor
northwest South Dakota for potential wind advisory level wind
gusts. Temperatures will also trend cooler on Friday with highs
holding right around 70 for most locations.
