...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...Another hot day is expected today. Afternoon
temperatures will top out near 100. Winds will be around 5 to 15
mph with gusts upwards of 20 mph. During the day, wind direction
will be out of the north to northwest before swinging to the north
to northeast for tonight.
Thunderstorms are also possible later today. Isolated storm
initiation in and around the Black Hills will start around 1 to 3
PM. Then another round of passing storms is likely late this
afternoon and evening, mainly after 6PM, from storms that will
develop in north-central Wyoming.
The biggest threats will be dry lightning and potential fire
starts, and gusty thunderstorm winds in excess of 50 mph.
Very similar weather is likely tomorrow and again Tuesday. Highs
will be in the mid to upper 90s with thunderstorm chances in the
afternoon. Winds will be out of south to southeast tomorrow and
Tuesday at around 10 to 15 mph with gusts near 20 mph. Lighter
easterly winds Monday night.
