Morning clouds and fog will give way to mostly sunny skies by afternoon. High temperatures this afternoon will reach the mid 70s to mid 80s. Minimum afternoon relative humidities will range from the 30s near the Wyoming/South Dakota border to the 60s over central South Dakota. Southeast to northeast winds will average 10-15 mph. The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread. Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the relative humidity is higher.
