* Temperatures will hover within a few degrees of seasonal normals
  through the week with otherwise quiet conditions.

.DISCUSSION...Today through Sunday.

After a very active weekend, calmer conditions are expected for the
week ahead with dry conditions, fairly seasonable temperatures, and
generally light winds through at least mid-week. Currently,
shortwave ridging dominates the region with mostly clear skies and
light northwesterly breezes. A quick moving shortwave will push
through the Great Basin on Tuesday-Wednesday, but impacts will be
minimal across our region aside from some high clouds and minor
breezes across the southern Great Basin. Thereafter, stronger
ridging builds into the West allowing for a slow warming trend and
continued clear skies. Strengthening pressure gradients as surface
high pressure builds over the Great Basin will allow for some
increasing northerly winds down the Colorado River Valley by Friday
through the weekend, but conditions will remain dry.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 18Z Forecast Package...Breezy
north winds today, favoring a north-northwest direction during the
morning hours but weakening and turning northeasterly in the
afternoon. Chances for seeing 10+ knots drop below 20% after 20z,
with light and diurnal wind anticipated throughout the remainder of
the TAF period. High clouds move in this afternoon with bases at or
above 20kft.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 18Z Forecast Package...Northerly breezes
expected across most of the region today with gusts 15-25 knots in
the lower Colorado River Valley and lighter winds elsewhere. The
exception to this is our northwestern zones where light south winds
are forecast today. Outside of the lower Colorado River Valley,
winds become light overnight and return to a typical light and
diurnal pattern. VFR conditions prevail with scattered to broken
high clouds moving in from the west.
