Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Las Vegas NV
411 AM PDT Wed Jun 3 2026

.KEY MESSAGES...

* Quiet weather with above normal temperatures anticipated through
   the work week.

* A trough approaches this weekend, producing some modest
increase in winds and cooling temperatures slightly.

&&

.DISCUSSION...Through Tuesday

Quiet weather will continue through Friday with generally light
winds and above normal temperatures. Temperatures will peak on
Thursday and Friday as high temperatures climb 5-8 degrees above
normal. Moderate(level 2 of 5) HeatRisk is expected in many valley
locations, anyone sensitive to the heat, people outdoors for long
periods of time, and those without adequate cooling or water should
take precautions to protect from heat-related impacts.

We will see some changes this weekend as a fairly deep trough moves
into the western US. We still start to see increasing southwest
winds Friday afternoon, but the stronger winds are expected Saturday
and Sunday as the trough progresses east and surface gradients
tighten. The potential for impactful wind gusts over 40 MPH through
the typical southwesterly wind belt of San Bernardino County,
southern Nevada, and northern Mohave County are greater than 70%
Saturday, but become more isolated on Sunday. There is very little
moisture associated with this trough as there really isn`t any deep
tropical moisture to tap into. PWs will be near to below normal and
since most of the energy with this system remains well north of the
area, conditions are expected to remain dry. Temperatures will also
cool a few degrees Saturday into next week placing high temperatures
close to normal for this time of year.

Wednesday afternoon will be near 100F from 20z through 02Z,
