* Breezy south-southwesterly wind gusts will continue through the
  week with dry conditions and near-normal temperatures.

.DISCUSSION...

The Desert Southwest will remain situated between an upper-level
trough across the Pacific Northwest and a ridge of high pressure
across the southern Plains. As a result, increased pressure
gradients aloft will return gusty south-southwest winds to the
region each day through at least midweek. Expect gust speeds
generally between 25 and 35 mph, though can`t rule out 40 mph
speeds in isolated instances and/or in the higher terrain.
Otherwise, expect mostly dry conditions and temperatures near-
normal. Near-normal for this time of year for desert valleys is
in the upper-90s to lower-100s. Mid-to-late week, confidence
decreases. Ensemble means show a closed area of low pressure
pushing into the southwestern Great Basin Wednesday and Thursday,
then eventually meandering across the southern Great Basin heading
into the weekend. The associated upper-level jet overhead should
provide ample instability to our western zones. When combined with
PWATs between 0.75 and 1.00 inches, portions of northwestern
Arizona could see a return of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package...South-
southwest winds continue through the TAF period, strongest from late
morning through sunset with gusts 15-25 knots. Clear skies with
temperatures near 100F from 21z to 00z.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Light breezes tonight
give way to southerly to westerly winds again Monday afternoon.
Strongest breezes broadly along and southeast of the I-15 corridor
where gusts of 15-15 knots are likely (80%). Mostly clear skies with
just a few mid-level clouds in northwestern AZ and the Colorado
River Valley. Isolated showers/storms possible (30%) in far
eastern/northeastern Mohave County in the afternoon hours.
