Ensemble guidances is in good agreement on the development of a ridge over the southwestern US today and sticking around through at least the middle of next week. This feature will promote anomalously warm temperatures, with forecast highs up to 10 degrees above normal at times. However, heat risk during this time largely remains in the minor category, with just Death Valley in the moderate to major categories. A weak disturbance passing through on Sunday and Monday tries to spur a slight uptick in winds and minor cooling, but impacts are not expected. Precipitation chances stay below 5% across the entire area. && .AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package... Fairly benign weather expected through the rest of the TAF period. Light SW winds this evening become light and variable into the overnight hours. By 18z Thursday, expect a E-NE wind to set up around 8 kts, potentially becoming ESE into the evening. Winds become light and variable again after sunset. No cig or vis issues expected. For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Winds will remain around 5-10KT across the region the next 24 hours, following typical daily directional patterns with some variability. For KDAG, Light west winds tonight become variable in the afternoon, favoring an E-NE direction. KBIH may observe isolated southerly wind gusts around 15 kt during peak heating of the day tomorrow, diminishing after sunset.
