...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southern Nevada, including the following
  county, Clark.

* WHEN...Until 945 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 640 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.25 and 0.75 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Fremont Street, Nellis AFB,
    Aliante, East Las Vegas, The Strip, The Motor Speedway,
    Paradise, Lone Mountain, Spring Valley, Centennial Hills,
    Summerlin, North Las Vegas Airport, Stratosphere Tower and
    Frenchman Mtn.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
