.DISCUSSION...
There will be some scattered showers Saturday in the coastal
areas as one more low pressure moves into the Bering. Saturday
night the coastal areas will begin to dry out, and their warming
begins Sunday. Temperatures will be in the 60s Sunday and some
areas could hit 70 on Monday. Minimum RH values will stay around
40% to 50%. Gusty South winds along the coast will begin to weaken
Saturday night.
The Western Interior hot and dry conditions will continue as high
pressure builds over the Interior. Thunderstorm chances in the
Western Interior begin Sunday afternoon with widely scattered
thunderstorms expected in the Kobuk, Koyukuk, and Middle Yukon
Valleys. On Monday we are expecting Scattered thunderstorms for a
large swath of the Western Interior, from the South Slopes of the
Western Brooks Range to the Kuskokwim Mountains. Widely Scattered
thunderstorms are expected from the Noatak Valley to Grayling.
Tuesday looks to have the most thunderstorm activity with numerous
thunderstorms expected from Galena to McGrath. The thunderstorms
on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday could continue through the overnight
hours.
