952...
.DISCUSSION...Hot and dry conditions persist throughout the region
as high pressure continues to sit over the W Interior. High
temperatures will mostly be in the upper 70s and low 80s with a
slight cooling trend heading into midweek. Min RH values bottom
out between 25-30% over the Kobuk Valley with min RH values in the
low 40% range along the coast. Winds are expected to be
strongest along the coast out of the west/northwest with moderate
east winds out in the Kobuk Valley this afternoon.
High thunderstorm activity is expected across the Western
Interior and Upper Kobuk Valleys this afternoon/evening through
Wednesday afternoon. These storms will be accompanied with
frequent lightning, heavy rain, and gusty erratic winds. The Red Flag
Warning remains in effect.
