.DISCUSSION...
Key Messages...
- Cool and wet weather spreads across the remainder of Western
Alaska except a small portion near Kotzebue and the Noatak
Valley which remains warmer and dry Monday. This area will cool
down Tuesday
- Widespread wetting rains over half an inch across the Western
Interior are likely through Tuesday. Higher totals along south
facing slopes up to 2 inches possible. The Chukchi Sea Coast
sees much less rain and relatively low chances of wetting rain.
- Southerly winds increase across the Western Interior as a front
moves north Monday. Sustained speeds in the 10 to 15 mph range
are expected across much of the region.
