.DISCUSSION...
Hot and mainly dry conditions will continue throughout the
Western Interior as High pressure continues over the region.
Northwesterly winds will pick up in the afternoon hours today and
again Tuesday with the strongest along the coast. The big story
will be the thunderstorm activity across much of the Western
Interior for the next couple of days. These storms will be
accompanied with frequent lightning, heavy rain, and gusty erratic
winds. We are expecting thunderstorm activity to continue through
the overnight hours tonight and again Tuesday night.
Even though min RH values will be in the ow to mid 30 percent
range, surface fuels remain plentiful across the area. With
increased thunderstorm coverage and lightning potential, the Fire
Weather Watch for Tuesday has been upgraded to a Fed Flag Warning.
