.DISCUSSION...
A storm system will move over the western Interior later today into
early Wednesday generating widespread rain. Despite gusty southerly
winds this afternoon and Tuesday...the expected rain and higher
humidities should help diminish fire activity. There is a good
chance for wetting rains in most locations. Use caution as the rains
the next couple days will likely cause the unpaved roads and trails
to become slick and muddy. Smoky conditions will improve due to this
wind and rain. High pressure develops behind this storm system on
Wednesday with warmer and drier conditions expected Thursday into
the weekend. The exception will be along the west coast of Alaska
where more rain is possible by Friday night.
