.DISCUSSION...
Key Messages...
- Thunderstorm activity continues in the region through at least
Saturday. Expect isolated-to-scattered thunderstorms in the
Interior today and tomorrow. Thunderstorm activity then shifts
to the Southwest Interior for Friday and Saturday.
- Temperatures gradually cool in the Northern Interior through
Friday. Temperatures cool in the Southern Interior tomorrow but
warm on Friday.
- The warmest temperatures are expected Saturday afternoon.
Daytime highs will remain in the mid-to-upper 70s for most of
the valleys in the Western Interior, while the Kuskokwim Valley
may see highs above 80. RH values will also be decreasing
throughout the week, but should stay above critical levels.
- Winds will generally remain light and variable through the end
of the weekend, when a low pressure system is set to move over
the Alaska Peninsula. This system will bring an end to the warm
and dry conditions for at least the West Coast and Southwest
Interior.
