381 NOUS41 KWBC 151930 PNSWSH Service Change Notice 25-53 National Weather Service Headquarters Silver Spring MD 330 PM EDT Tue Jul 15 2025 TO: SUBSCRIBERS: -NOAA Weather Wire Service -Emergency Managers Weather Information Network -NOAAPort Other NWS Partners and NWS Employees FROM: David Michaud Director, NCEP Central Operations (NCO) SUBJECT: Notification of Upgrade to the Model Analyses and Guidance (MAG) Website to version 6.0.4 Effective August 20, 2025 The Model Analyses and Guidance (MAG) website (https://mag.ncep.noaa.gov) will be upgraded to version 6.0.4, on or about August 20, starting with the 1200 UTC cycle. In the case of Critical Weather Day or Enhanced Caution Event declaration, the upgrade will take place on the next working day that does not have significant weather. The upgrade includes the following: -Addition of the following new products for National Blend of Models (NBM): North America and CONUS domains: precip_p01, 1hour_precip_chance, 6hour_precip_chance, 12hour_precip_chance, precip_duration, prob_rain, prob_snow, prob_sleet, prob_freezing_rain, snow_liquid_ratio, 1hour_accu_snow, 6hour_accu_snow, total_accu_snow, 10th_percentile_1hr_snow, 50th_percentile_1hr_snow, 90th_percentile_1hr_snow, prob_1h_snow_0.1in, prob_1h_snow_0.3in, prob_1h_snow_0.5in, prob_1h_snow_0.7in, prob_1h_snow_1in, prob_1h_snow_1.5in, prob_1h_snow_2in, prob_1h_snow_3in, prob_1h_snow_4in, tstm_coverage, visibility, ceiling, cape, echo_top, prob_tstm, prob_vis_5mi, prob_vis_3mi, prob_vis_2mi, prob_vis_1mi, prob_ceil_1000ft, prob_ceil_2000ft, prob_ceil_3000ft, prob_ceil_6500ft Alaska domain: precip_p01, 1hour_precip_chance, 6hour_precip_chance, 12hour_precip_chance, prob_rain, prob_snow, prob_sleet, prob_freezing_rain, snow_liquid_ratio, 1hour_accu_snow, 6hour_accu_snow, total_accu_snow, 10th_percentile_1hr_snow, 50th_percentile_1hr_snow, 90th_percentile_1hr_snow, prob_1h_snow_0.1in, prob_1h_snow_0.3in, prob_1h_snow_0.5in, prob_1h_snow_0.7in, prob_1h_snow_1in, prob_1h_snow_1.5in, prob_1h_snow_2in, prob_1h_snow_3in, prob_1h_snow_4in, tstm_coverage, visibility, ceiling, cape, echo_top, prob_tstm Hawaii and Puerto Rico domains: precip_p01, 1hour_precip_chance, 6hour_precip_chance, 12hour_precip_chance, tstm_coverage, visibility, ceiling, cape, echo_top, prob_tstm -Addition of the following new product for Guam domain for Real Time Mesoscale Analysis (RTMA) model: ceiling -Improved Real Time Mesoscale Analysis (RTMA) and National Blend of Models (NBM) model output image quality and color palette. -Fixed display of extra domain for North American Mesoscale Model(NAM)Fire Weather High Resolution Nested Runs(Firewx) model. -Fixed data flickering for accu_max_updraft_hlcy for North American Mesoscale Model 3km(nam-hires), High Resolution Window/Advanced Research Weather Research and Forecast Model- Member (hrw-arw)and High Resolution Window/Advanced Research Weather Research and Forecast Model- Member 2 (hrw-arw2) -Truncated High Resolution Window/Non-Hydrostatic, hybrid, vert coordinate Mesoscale Model (hrw-fv3) accu_max_updraft_hlcy product forecast hours to 48 to ensure accurate output. -Fixed occasional filling of one probability value in the entire domain for probability of storm-tracks maps. MAG suite will be hosted on https://mageval.ncep.noaa.gov for a period of 30 days before going live.
