...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...

At 1244 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms,
capable of producing winds to around 25 knots. These thunderstorms
were located along a line extending from 11 nm southeast of Fort
Washington to 10 nm west of Aquia Creek, moving southeast at 25
knots.

A gust front with a wind shift from southeast to northwest will
arrive before the rain.

Locations impacted include...
Potomac Creek, Widewater, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port
Tobacco River, Smallwood State Park, Quantico, Cobb Island, Swan
Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Popes Creek,
Brent Point, Westmoreland State Park, Fairview Beach, Colonial Beach,
and Dahlgren.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds, locally higher waves, and lightning
strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these
storms pass.
