Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Grand Rapids MI

...Small streams to rise and possible ponding of water on roads
Wednesday night into Thursday...

Several rounds of rainfall are expected to impact West Michigan
through midday Thursday. Total rainfall amounts between 1 and 2
inches are possible, which may be enough to cause small streams
to rise significantly. It`s possible some of the small streams may
briefly overflow their banks if the heaviest rain showers track
over the same areas repeatedly.

In addition the rain may fall heavily at times which may lead to
ponding of water at low spots on roadways and intersections. Soil
moisture levels remain high from recent rain events, which will
limit how quickly water can be absorbed into the soil. Drivers
should pay extra attention to conditions Wednesday night and
Thursday, especially if driving after dark as ponded water may be
difficult to see.
