Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Miami FL

...Potential for Localized Flooding through rest of this Weekend...

The very moist air mass will remain situated over South Florida
rest of this weekend while weak disturbances move across the
area. As a result, multiple rounds of scattered to numerous
showers and thunderstorms will move across the outlook area
through rest of this afternoon and again on Sunday, and this
activity will be capable of producing torrential rainfall.

Present indications are that total rainfall amounts through Sunday
should reach up to 1 inch over the west coast areas to 1 to 3
inches over the eastern areas of South Florida. However, there is
a chance for higher rainfall accumulations to occur on a localized
basis, especially over eastern portions of South Florida. There
is an outside chance for total rainfall accumulations to reach 4
inches over northern Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

The previously mentioned rainfall amounts will be capable of
producing localized flooding. This will especially be the case in
areas that experience repeated rounds of showers and
thunderstorms, yielding increasing potential for excessive
runoff. The potential for localized flooding will be highest over
the east coast metro areas and vicinity. Moreover, higher than
normal tides around the new moon phase will contribute to
enhancing the localized flooding potential over coastal areas.

Everyone across South Florida is encouraged to closely monitor
weather conditions and be prepared for localized flooding through
rest of this weekend. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering
flooded roads. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads.
