Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service Raleigh NC
1037 PM EDT MON MAY 21 2018

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Wake County in central North Carolina...

* Until 245 AM EDT

* At 1035 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in
  north Raleigh, including the Crabtree Creek area near Glenwood
  Avenue to Old Wake Forest Road. While the heavy rain has ended
  across the warned area, flash flooding will continue into early
  Tuesday morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  northwest Raleigh, William B Umstead State Park and locations
  along Crabtree Creek from around Crabtree Valley Mall to near Six
  Forks Road.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is
harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
