It was a mostly cloudy day across eastern Kansas while temperatures
climbed into the low to mid 80s. Gusty south winds developed
toward the afternoon hours.

This evening and tonight, severe storms are likely across the region. The strongest
storms will be capable of 2 inch sized hail or greater, damaging
wind gusts to 70 mph, and a few tornadoes. Be sure to have
multiple ways of receiving warning information, especially at
night when you may be asleep. Overnight lows will fall to the mid
40s across western Nebraska while portions of eastern Kansas and
Oklahoma remain much more mild in the mid 60s. Gusty south winds
will continue across much of the region overnight along with
partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Tomorrow, highs will range from the low 60 across western Nebraska to the
upper 70s and low 80s across southern Kansas, to the mid 80s
across northeast Oklahoma. Showers and storms from the overnight
period will likely be exiting eastern Kansas and western Missouri
tomorrow morning, meanwhile additional showers and storms can be
expected across Nebraska, northern Kansas, and Missouri throughout
the day tomorrow. Strong northwesterly winds have prompted High
Wind Watches, High Wind Warnings, and Red Flag Warnings across
portions of western Nebraska, western Kansas, and eastern
Colorado.
