.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1125 AM EDT Fri Apr 26 2024
Surface analysis places a sprawing high over the Northeast, which
is slowly diving southeastward into the western North Atlantic.
This feature will be the major player in the sensible weather for
the Florida Keys for the weekend into early next week, resulting
in an extended period of windy easterlies.

The 12z sounding at KEY sampled a very dry boundary layer, capped
by a weak temperature inversion based at around 800 mb. It should
come as no surprise that GOES-16 visible satelltie products are
stretching to detect much in the way of cloud cover throghout the
forecast area. Yet another dry day expected for the island
communities, with temperatures reaching the lower to mid 80s, and
breezy conditions emerging by this evening. No changes proposed
for this late morning update.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1125 AM EDT Fri Apr 26 2024
Breezes will continue to freshen across the Florida Keys coastal
waters this afternoon. Small Craft Advisories will likely be
required for all marine zones by this evening. From synopsis, gentle
to moderate breezes will prevail in the near term as an Atlantic
ridge extends westward across Florida. This high will be subsumed
by a larger high spreading into the western North Atlantic over
the next couple of days. This will be accompanied by sharply
freshening easterly breezes. Breezes will diminish somewhat Monday
through Tuesday as the high loses latitude towards the Bahamas.
