506 FNUS55 KBOU 152049 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 249 PM MDT Wed May 15 2024 .DISCUSSION...Tonight and Thursday...After a cool, and somewhat humid day with scattered showers/storms, Thursday will be warmer and drier as high pressure aloft begins to build over the region. Winds will generally be weak Thursday underneath this high. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday night through Monday...Elevated fire weather conditions may return to the northern sections of the plains near the Wyoming border Friday and Saturday due to relative humidity in the teens and wind gusts to 25 mph. However, the fire danger may be limited due to the fact that grasses have greened up over the past week or so. On Sunday, hot dry and breezy conditions may result in elevated fire weather conditions across Southeastern Elbert County and Southern Lincoln Counties. Smoke dispersal will be good to very good most days across all areas. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
