...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  NEARSHORE WATERS FROM WILMETTE HARBOR TO MICHIGAN CITY...
  OPEN WATERS FROM WINTHROP HARBOR TO MICHIGAN CITY OUT TO MID
LAKE...

At 541 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 27 nm west of The St. Joseph
Pierheads to 21 nm northwest of New Buffalo to 14 nm east of
Montrose Harbor, moving east at 25 knots. Additional storms may
develop across far southern Lake Michigan through early evening.

Locations impacted include...
Montrose Harbor.
Calumet Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
